Caleb Kercheval started his real estate career in the Hamptons in 1984 after building his first home at the age of 21. Shortly afterwards, he worked with award-winning Hamptons architect, Fred Stelle, eventually designing and building new homes as well as buying, renovating and selling old ones. At the same time, Caleb also created innovative websites for local real estate agencies , their top brokers, as well as for himself in order to market homes on his own; all while spending 12 years acquiring, learning, utilizing and expanding information technologies.

Caleb recently designed and built two new modern homes on land he purchased in Sag Harbor, utilizing Green Building practices such as SIPS, Geothermal and Solar. His long time knowledge of the area, varied building techniques and internet technology skills make him the perfect broker for anyone interested in buying or selling a home on the East End.

The Southampton communities  controversy of replacing an 1880 Shingle style house at 40 Meadow Lane in Southampton, NY with a modern house is entirely understandable but  I also would suggest to them that juxtaposition of forms can enhance each part rather than distract. Thinking back on I.M  Pei's Pyramids at the Louvre what could be more sacrilegious  than  placing this modern concept and form among the treasures of the original buildings.

The communities Issues with the latest proposed building design include character, scale, and materials. The surrounding buildings are old Shingle Style or postmodern shingled houses that blend in well with neighbors, particularly the 1887 Meadow Club; the new building is made of floor-to-ceiling glass panels—on all four facades and three stories—with limestone and mahogany; concrete-slab projecting balconies, and a zinc roof.

The architects Bates Masi + Architects LLC, have received 86 design awards since 2003 and has been featured in national and international publications including The New York Times, New York Magazine, Architectural Digest, Architectural Record, Metropolitan Home, and Dwell.
